How to learn anything easily: Learning techniques and strategies of success

How to learning anything easily

It would be great if we all could memorize everything in few minutes without excessive efforts. However, often it is not that we don’t want to study — all that information simply cannot be put in one head. Good news: I have a sweet recipe for learning techniques for students that will boost you in studying. I am pretty sure that these advices will guide you on how to learn anything easily.

Define what you are going to learn

Sometimes a load of information is too big for you actually to understand the phenomenon you are going to investigate. Therefore, it always a good idea to start the learning process from defining the subject and its main traits. Consider it a kind of outlining your learning process — just as you do when you are writing the outline for your essay.

Decide why do you need it

I know that in most cases, you will reply, “because I have to.” However, you may strengthen your motivation by finding other reasons for learning about a particular phenomenon. For instance, you may apply it in your future work, use for personal improvement, or even to boost yourself in some other field.

Think about connections

Always relate new information to something you have already learned. In such a case, you will have a basis for the latest information, and you will restore something old in your memory as well. Double profit, what else can I say?

Talk about it

Of course, you have much more exciting topics to talk about; still, it’s a great way to strengthen your memory and recall something you have learned. Your friends or relatives may not be happy to hear about all the historical events, though: just stick to some interesting facts or major points. Alternatively, you can explain something you have already learned to your peers: in such a way, you will improve your knowledge and help them to learn as well.

Practice your knowledge

Not everything you learn will have a practical application. While you may easily practice a piece of code or test some simple physical rule, philosophy, or literature is not something you can experiment with in your regular life. However, if you have any possibility, do try to see how your new knowledge works in real life: for instance, you may use psychological theories to analyze someone’s behavior or apply economic analysis to your personal financial overview.

Don’t force yourself

It’s okay to be bored sometimes (although not all the time). It’s also okay to have the breaks. You don’t have to study all the time, and you don’t have to force yourself to learn when you are sick of even thinking about it. Give yourself permission for a rest: in such a way, you will avoid creating a perception of studying as something incredibly dull.

Exam yourself

Don’t wait for your professor to do it. The Internet is full of easy and quick tests that can help you to check the progress of your knowledge. Even if you don’t manage to find such self-exams, you can always ask yourself a few questions and provide the response immediately.

Evaluate your success

Be honest with yourself, and clearly define the things you have managed to do (memorized 100 words, wrote an essay, understood the primary theory), and something you have not. Identify what prevented you from 100% success and try to avoid these barriers in the future. In any case, give yourself something pleasant as an award for an excellent job.

These are the basic techniques that can help anyone to learn anything quickly. If you have any other tips for success, please write them in the comments section — let us help each other to learn.
